When I desperately need to eat something sweet I like to have a list of my favourite sweet treats around. The treats on my list need to be easy and quick to prepare. No one wants to wait ages when you are craving for something sweet. However, at the same time it needs to be something healthy, preferably with no added sugar or other artificial ingredients. Apple and cinnamon treat ticks all the boxes. A perfect treat for all the PCOS women I would say.
You need four ingredients only: apples (which I usually have at home no matter the day of the week), cinnamon, some lemon juice and some water. It will take you between 5-10 minutes to prepare depending how fast you can peel the applies and slice them.
What do you need to make your apple and cinnamon treat?
- 3 apples
- 1 tbl spoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 lemon
- 100 ml water
Method to prepare your healthy apple and cinnamon treat
- Juice 1/2 of lemon.
- Peel the applies, slice them and put in a pan.
- Pour the lemon juice over the apples and mix well.
- Put the pan with your apple mixture on a heat, add water and cook until apples are soft.
- Add cinnamon, mix it well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Your delicious apple and cinnamon treat is ready to serve. It will serve two people.
You can have it either warm or old. I usually eat it warm as I love the smell of warm apples with cinnamon. Ideally, with a scoop of (home made) lemon ice-cream on top. It reminds me of my childhood … and Christmas as well! However, independent on the season, high level of carbs in apples should decrease your appetite for something sweet.
I hope you will enjoy it. Let me know what your favourite method of serving is. I guess there are lots of serving ideas!
Thanks for a new post. I will try it out tonight.
My grandma used to make it for me when I was a child :).
